Shari has an intimate relationship with the piano, and the pieces that flow from her since she was young. Audiences say they feel nature woven into her melodies, the sounds of waterfalls in her rhythms and journeys in her improvisations.
She has performed for mental health charities and concerts across Ontario. Her most memorable experience happened at David Galbraith's (La Cirque de Soleil), House Concert on his Queen Victoria's Steinway Grand Piano. A woman sitting in the front row, had had a car accident 2 years prior, and told Shari that as she was listening to her play, she felt no pain, for the first time since her accident.
Shari plays flute along with her original piano pieces and hits in multiple genres - jazz, pop, rock, blues. Shari also sings original songs from her upcoming album The Flow, uplifting and rich in texture. ewith songs that songs that bring on a lush soundscape that expands into different and beautiful musical journeys, each with its own vibe, approach, and instrumentation. This moment captured this duo's appreciation for the lovely audience's applause, at the Horseshoe Tavern. The Free Spirits, Chris Birkett and Shari Tallon celebrated their 2nd album release concert March 12, 2025.
While they play many different styles and genres, one thing is in common, the melodies are strong and the production (courtesy Birkett) is flawless. The songs are arranged perfectly to highlight their strengths and in doing so, their music elevates the audience. Lyrically their songs deals with love, relationships, politics, spirituality, and even care of the earth.
